Plot your course through the prairie like a pro. Traffic and parking take time, so plan ahead to make sure you don’t miss a single set. Here’s some advice from seasoned Hinterlanders on how to keep your travels smooth and safe.
Parking
If you plan to drive to St. Charles, make sure you’ve purchased a parking pass and have your parking sticker visible in your front driver side window. When you arrive, use the festival map and follow the directions of onsite signs and staff. Parking for Campers | Parking for Non-Campers
Shuttles
Skip the hassles of driving and parking altogether by purchasing a pass on the Des Moines Shuttle. Hop on board in Des Moines and hop off right at the festival grounds. Let loose safely, knowing that after a day of glorious music and sun, you can catch a shuttle back home.
Whether you ride or drive, plan ahead for inevitable traffic delays.
Peak travel times are 9am on Friday (for campers), 3pm-5pm each day, and at the end of each night. If you aren’t able to head out early to avoid traffic, remember to keep it friendly and kind. Your fellow Hinterlanders are waiting too, and everyone will be there soon!
